This is what a drum tap looks like, which you can attach to our 200 l barrels.
To install a drum tap, the small sheet pile hole on the top of the barrel must be opened. This is done best with a suitable barrel key, if you don’t have one on hand, a pair of tongs will do the same (see figure).
Spread the tongs slightly, turn on the small lid and remove.
Now the thread of the tap must be wrapped with sealing tape (available from us) to be able to install the tap leak-proof.
Now the drum tap has to be put on the bunghole…
… and screwed in – done! You can then place the drum – slightly elevated – sideways on a drum stand, a ramp or pallets, and secure it against rolling away using wedges or squared lumber. Now you can conveniently remove the liquid.
Before laying down the barrel, make sure the drum tap is closed to avoid leakage!
